Our Impact: Building a Brighter Future with Subayo Foundation

At the Subayo Foundation, our mission is to drive sustainable community development through education, infrastructure, and social welfare. This impact report highlights our key initiatives and the lives we have touched across our various programs.

1. Advancing Education and Literacy

We believe that education is the ultimate equalizer. Our programs span the entire academic journey, ensuring no child is left behind due to financial barriers.

Primary and Early Childhood Support

  • Teacher Sponsorship: We currently sponsor the salary of an ECE teacher at Namitome Primary School. Between 2020 and 2024, we supported three volunteer teachers to maintain high educational standards.
  • Direct Student Aid: Before the introduction of free education, the Foundation paid school fees for over 300 pupils.
  • School Essentials: In 2019, we donated full uniforms to Grade 10 students transitioning from Namitome Primary to Limulunga Day Secondary.

  Higher Education and Professional Training

  • University Graduates: We have successfully sponsored over 25 students graduating from the University of Barotseland and Holy Cross.
  • Healthcare Training: We are currently sponsoring a student at the Lewanika School of Nursing and Midwifery to bolster local healthcare.
  • Ongoing Scholarships: We continue to support two students currently enrolled at the University of Barotseland.

2. Infrastructure and Institutional Growth

Reliable infrastructure is the backbone of a healthy community. We invest in buildings that serve the public good.

  • Namitome Primary Facilities: Sponsored the construction of a modern computer lab and a 1×2 classroom block.
  • Community Roofing Project: Donated over 250 iron sheets to renovate Namboma Clinic, Namitome UCZ, and the New Apostolic Churches in Matoka and Mukoti.
  • Dignified Housing: Constructed a new house for the Matoka Headman and provided roofing materials for 9 vulnerable households.

3. Social Welfare and Youth Engagement

A thriving community cares for its most vulnerable and provides safe spaces for its youth to grow.

  • Caring for Elders: Conducted distribution drives providing mealie meal and blankets to the elderly in Namitome.
  • Sports and Teamwork: Purchased 9 sets of football jerseys for the Namitome and Nalinanga teams to encourage youth talent.
  • Matoka Village Playhouse: Built a dedicated play space to encourage creative development for local children.

“Empowering one individual creates a ripple effect that can transform an entire village.”

Join us in our mission. Together, we are building a stronger Zambia.
